本系以「專業、研究、多元、跨域、國際」為五大特色,持續在教學與研究上引領發展,培養具全球視野與專業素養的體育與運動科學人才。
The department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (PESS) characterized by its focus on "professionalism, research, diversity, internationalization, and interdisciplinary collaboration." It continues to lead in teaching and research, cultivating physical education and sports sciences professionals with a global perspective and professional competence.

    • 專業師資,學風卓越:教師兼具理論與實務經驗,研究能量豐沛,搭配完善設施與良好互動營造優質學習環境。
      Featuring excellent faculty and an outstanding academic atmosphere: PESS’s teachers have both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The faculty is dedicated to and highly engaged in research, while the PESS fosters a high-quality learning environment through well-equipped facilities and positive interactions.
    • 研究精進,產學並行:本系特有六大研究學群,涵蓋自然科學 (運動生理學、身體活動心理學、運動生物力學)以及人文社會科學 (運動教育學、運動與休閒產業經營學群、運動文史哲學群) 兩大領域;師生積極參與研究計畫及產學合作專案,成果豐碩,提升獨立研究能力,強化學術與實務接軌。
      Promoting research excellence and industry-academia collaboration: The department features six major research clusters spanning the natural sciences (exercise physiology, physical activity psychology, sport biomechanics) and the humanities and social sciences (sport pedagogy, sport and leisure industry management, sport history and philosophy). Faculty and students actively participate in research projects and industry-academia collaborations, achieving fruitful results that enhance independent research capacity and strengthen the linkage between academic knowledge and practical applications.
    • 多元課程,學制完善:課程設計兼顧理論與實務並重,推動「學、術分群」,並設有「運動傷害防護學程」與「運動科技學程」兩大專業學程,同時發展EMI 教學,強化學生第二外語;學制涵蓋大學部、碩博士班及在職專班,提供多元進修選擇。
      Delivering a diverse curriculum and well-structured programs: The curriculum balances theory and practice and promotes academic and professional specialization. The department offers two professional programs in Sports Injury Prevention and Care and Sports Technology, while also developing EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) courses to enhance students’ second-language proficiency. The programs cover undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and in-service levels, providing diverse pathways for further study.
    • 跨域整合,全人發展:透過多元課程設計及語言學習平台,鼓勵學生跨域發展第二專長,考取專業證照,並參與社會服務與體育賽事,培養全方位能力。
      Enhancing interdisciplinary integration and holistic development: Through diverse curriculum design and language-learning platforms, students are encouraged to develop secondary specializations, obtain professional certifications, and participate in community service and sports competitions to cultivate comprehensive abilities.
    • 國際交流,全球視野:積極推動國際化,涵蓋學術研討、赴外交換與國際賽事,並與多所國外知名大學簽訂雙聯學制與合作備忘錄(MOU),推動「世界足跡」學習,強化師生國際競爭力。
      Encouraging international exchange and global perspective: The department actively promotes internationalization through academic conferences, overseas exchange programs, and global sports competitions. It has also established dual-degree programs and MOUs with prestigious international universities, creating global learning opportunities that strengthen the international competitiveness of both faculty and students.

展望 Prospect

    面對社會對體育與運動專業人才日益多元的需求,本系將持續深化課程之專業化與多樣化,強化學生的專業知能與實務操作能力。 本系已突破「體育系即為體育老師」的傳統印象,建構多元進路的課程架構:學士班自大二起實施專業分流,依據學生興趣與職涯方向培養專長;碩、博士班則設有六大研究學群,專注於各領域之深耕研究。同時,透過「運動傷害防護」及「運動科技」學分學程的設立,結合理論與實務,培養兼具專業知識與應用能力的全方位運動科學人才。
    In response to the growing societal demand for professionals in physical education and sports, the PESS continues to deepen the specialization and breadth of its curriculum. This approach enhances students’ professional knowledge and practical skills. Moving beyond the traditional perception that a “physical education department solely trains teachers”, PESS has developed a curriculum framework that supports multiple career pathways. At the undergraduate level, students begin selecting specialized track pathways in their sophomore year by choosing courses, developing expertise based on their interests and career goals. At the graduate level, the master’s and doctoral programs are organized into six research clusters, each dedicated to advancing knowledge in its respective field. Beyond that, the PESS offers credit programs in “Sports Injury Prevention and Care” and “Sports Technology”. These programs bridge theory and practice to cultivate comprehensive sports science professionals who embody both academic knowledge and applied skills.

    針對高中階段學生對體育與運動科學的刻板認知,本系亦將持續推廣新一代之學習觀念,闡明課程並非僅為術科訓練,而是融合理論探究、實作演練與應用整合的多元學習歷程。未來,本系將更加重視學生學術研究能力之培養,並以實務導向之課程設計,強化其問題解決與跨域整合的能力。
    To address high school students’ stereotypical perceptions of physical education and sports sciences, the PESS continues to promote a new generation of learning concepts. It emphasizes that the PESS’s curriculum is not limited to sport-specific skill training but represents a multifaceted learning journey that integrates theoretical inquiry, hands-on practice, and the integration of theory and practice. As we look to the future, the PESS will place greater emphasis on cultivating students’ academic research competencies, while employing practice-based course designs to strengthen their problem-solving skills and interdisciplinary integration competencies.

    展望未來,本系將持續結合國內外學術與產業資源,推動教學創新、跨語言與跨文化交流、跨域合作與國際連結,培育具備全球視野、理論與實務兼備之體育與運動科學專業領袖,進一步擴大本系於學術研究、人才培育與社會服務領域的影響力。
    Moving forward, the PESS will continue to leverage domestic and international academic and industry resources to promote innovative teaching, inter-linguistic and intercultural exchanges, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global connections. It aims to cultivate sports and exercise science leaders with a global perspective and a strong foundation in both theory and practice, while further expanding the department’s impact in academic research, talent development, and community service.
