1. Minimum credits required for graduation: 30 credits
2. Each doctoral student shall complete 30 course credits, including a three-credit compulsory course, 18 credits from core courses in their field of specialization, and nine elective credits, four of which shall be from courses related to their field of specialization that are not offered by the Department and that are approved by their advisor.
3. Students with only an undergraduate degree who are granted the direct pursuit of a doctoral degree shall not only complete the 30 credits required for the doctoral program after admission but also an additional six compulsory course credits from the Department’s master’s programs, including Research in Physical Education and Statistics and Experimental Design (I), and at least one master’s-level core course in their field of specialization.
4. Graduate students admitted in or after Academic Year 2021–22 shall take courses under the Graduate Program in English (GPE) framework without being subject to the compulsory and core coursework requirements set forth above. However, such students must take at least 15 credits of GPE courses offered by the Department’s doctoral program and up to 15 credits of English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) courses offered by the University or other institutions.
