One Full-time Faculty Position / Contract Assistant Professorship Available at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU)

I. Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a PhD degree in physical education and sports sciences and possess EMI skills.

II. Appointed teachers shall be responsible for teaching, research, student counseling, and other related services in the Department, and shall assist with or serve a current position of administrative affairs at the level of the University, the College of Sports and Recreation, or the Department.

III.  Required documents:

  1. Photocopies of PhD degree certificate and Teacher’s Certificate at the level of Assistant Professor or above (for applicants with no previous academic appointments, only the photocopy of PhD degree certificate is required).
  2. Photocopy of the academic transcript of the candidate’s PhD study. [For applicants holding academic qualifications from foreign institutions, their degree certificates, transcripts, or proofs of study must be authenticated by overseas missions.]
  3. Certificate of EMI skills.
  4. Curriculum vitae.
  5. Requirements for new faculty members: Any candidate for the full-time faculty position must fulfill one of the following requirements: (a) Has published a book within three years, with proof of peer review and publication. (b) Has published at least two papers in journals indexed in SCI, SSCI, A&HCI, EI, TSSCI, and the new THCI in 2016 (which was changed in 2016; originally THCI Core) in the past three years as the first author or corresponding author. (c) Has hosted at least two research projects sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology (previously named as the National Science Council, NSC) in the last three years. The journal papers and Ministry of Science and Technology research projects described above are mutually interchangeable. (d) EMI skills.
  6. Description of courses that the candidate can offer(Sports technology course and Statistics course are preferable).
  7. Two letters of recommendation (see Note 2 for details).
  8. Other supporting materials.

III. Candidates who pass the preliminary review by the Department’s Faculty Evaluation Committee will be interviewed at the Department, or alternatively via video meeting if the candidate is currently abroad. The dates for video interviews are to be determined.

  1. Start of employment and position: Employment starts on February 1, 2023 or August 1, 2023 (depending on the progress of the University’s three-level review). The accepted candidate shall be employed in the position determined based on the NTNU Regulations for Faculty Evaluation or relevant regulations.
